Experiment purpose:
- 1 To understand and be capable of utilizing programmable logic controller to perform control system
- 2 To understand the working principle of automatic washing machine
Experiments Procedure:
- 1 Set both I/O port polarities to positive (+)
2 Operate in following steps:
- Press start button to start the process
- Press Upper limit to stimulate that water level reaches maximum level
- When stirring wheel stops and drain L.E.D lights up, press lower limit to stimulate that water level reaches minimum level
- Press Upper limit again to stimulate that water level once again reaches maximum level
Extra notes: When stirring wheel is rotating, pressing stop will stop the process. When pressing manual drain , it will automatically open the valve and let the water flow out
Experiments Observations:
- When start button is pressed and released, intake valve will start letting water flow inside the washing machine. As the upper limit sensor detects water level reaching the maximum level, intake valve will close and stirring wheel will start rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise for ten times.
- After that, the drain valve will open and allow water to flow out from the washing machine. Once the water level reaches minimum level, the intake valve will again open and allow water to flow in. Once it reaches maximum level, stirring wheel will again rotate. After that, drain valve will open and allow water to flow out. Once the water level reaches minimum, drying barrel will operate for 5 seconds.
- Finally, the buzzer will sound and the whole process will stop.
- When stop button is pressed while the washing machine is operating, it will stop the process while maintaining the current state. After that, when manual drain button is pressed, the water will start flowing out even if the stirring wheel is stopped in the middle of operation. Then, the process will continue its next sequence of instructions.
