The flotation machine is used in mineral processing to separate valuable minerals from gangue (unwanted material) based on differences in hydrophobicity (ability to repel water) and buoyancy. Flotation machines are widely used in the mining industry for ore beneficiation and concentration processes.

Working Principle :
Impeller System :
- Each cell contains an impeller that stirs the slurry and creates a turbulent environment for thorough mixing of reagents and ore particles.
Air Supply :
- Air is introduced into the flotation cell via blowers or spargers. Generated air bubbles carry hydrophobic mineral particles to the surface.
Reagent Addition :
- Specific reagents are added to modify hydrophobicity and promote selective attachment to air bubbles. These include collectors, frothers, and modifiers depending on the mineral type.
Froth Laundering :
- Hydrophobic particles form a froth layer at the surface, which is continuously removed using paddles or overflow launders.
