Product Overview
Rotary sample splitter designed for accurate (±1%) division of dry, flowable bulk samples into representative portions.
Suitable for handling materials with particle size up to 1/2”.
Working Principle
- Material is placed in the feed hopper and flows through a vibrating feeder.
- The rotating table distributes the material into multiple containers.
- Splitting accuracy is achieved by controlling feeder rate and table rotation speed.
Material of Construction :
- Structural parts: Mild steel
- Table: Laminated wood with Formica top
- Containers: 304 stainless steel (passivated)
- Coating: Enamel painted mild steel parts
Operation :
- Place containers on carousel
- Load material into hopper
- Start table rotation and adjust speed
- Start feeder and adjust flow rate
- Allow hopper to empty completely
- Do not change settings during operation
Setup / Adjustments :
Table Rotation :
- Adjust speed to prevent material bouncing; optimum 12–20 RPM
Feed Spout Adjustment :
- Set gap (1/8?–2?) larger than largest particle size
Feed Rate Adjustment :
- Control using vibrating feeder; slower speeds improve accuracy
Inspection :
- Inspect unit upon delivery for damage
- Verify all components are received
Maintenance (Lubrication) :
- Inspect worm gear every 120 days
- Replace contaminated oil immediately
- Replace gear oil annually
- Use petroleum-based gear oil with EP additives
- Lubricate bearings with NLGI #1 or #2 grease
